Sarah Lyon is an award-winning fundraising and communications leader with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations grow their impact through philanthropy, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Under her leadership, organizations have consistently increased revenue through major gifts, planned giving, and donor-centered campaigns. Sarah participates with various stakeholders and plays a pivotal role in securing core government funding, strengthening stakeholder communications, and expanding public awareness. Her achievements were recognized in 2020 when she was named Fundraiser of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Nova Scotia Chapter.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Sarah is also a passionate sector-builder. She founded NS Gives More, Nova Scotia’s Giving Tuesday movement, which united nearly 100 charities in a collaborative effort to inspire generosity. She has contributed her expertise as a board member and committee chair with the AFP Canada Foundation for Philanthropy, the Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society, and the Junior League of Halifax.

Sarah is also a sought-after speaker and educator, having presented at national and regional conferences on storytelling, donor engagement, and small-shop fundraising strategies. Known for her creativity, energy, and ability to bring people together, she is committed to helping organizations connect authentically with tier community and build lasting support for their missions.
