Mackenzie Murphy

Mackenzie Murphy is an emerging leader in public policy and governance with a strong foundation in organizational leadership, policy analysis, and community engagement. Entering her fourth year of a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Governance at St. Francis Xavier University, Mackenzie has distinguished herself as a passionate advocate for student voices and inclusive decision-making.

As Vice President of Campus Affairs for the STFX Students’ Union, Mackenzie oversees large-scale events such as Orientation Week, Homecoming, and Graduation, while managing financial systems, student society programming, and risk assessment training. She has also represented the university at national conferences, collaborated with campus and municipal stakeholders, and built systems to ensure diverse and balanced programming for the student body.

Her leadership experience extends beyond campus. Mackenzie has directed community programs as a Municipal Camp Director, coordinated volunteer teams, and demonstrated her ability to manage budgets, logistics, and strategic planning in fast-paced environments. Recognized for her strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, she brings creativity, energy, and professionalism to every initiative she leads.

Looking ahead, Mackenzie plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Administration, with the goal of contributing to policy development, public management, and institutional leadership. She is committed to advancing governance practices, building inclusive communities, and making a meaningful impact in the public and nonprofit sectors.
